Benny the Singing Teacher

I'm a rock vocalist, songwriter and singing teacher. Having 4 university degrees in music, I founded TopSingingSecrets.com to help singers be proud of their voice.

I struggled with singing for a long time. I couldn't seem to get the sound that I want. My throat would also get sore really quickly.

So, I went to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music to study how the voice worked.

And it paid off!

I wanted to help other people gain control of their voice. So, I started teaching private singing lessons in 2011.

After years of trial and error, I finally developed a syllabus that almost guaranteed to get excellent results for my students.

In 2019, I decided to make my syllabus available to singers around the world.

And so, TopSingingSecrets.com was born.

Benny the Musician

I make melodic metalcore that blends heavy guitars, distorted vocals, acoustic piano, and electronic textures. Think Linkin Park and Motionless in White vibes, with a hint of Taylor Swift’s lyrical storytelling and catchy melodies.

It all started with a need to create. As a kid in Malaysia, I built robots out of Lego. Now, I channel that same energy into building songs from scratch. Music became my way of making sense of overwhelming emotions – a safe space to let it all out.

Growing up, I always felt like an outsider. Linkin Park’s music was my lifeline during my darkest days. When I was nineteen, I got a flame tattoo as a promise to myself: to help others feel seen and understood through my music, just like Linkin Park did for me.

In 2019, I released my debut EP “Manifest”. Four years later, I have reshaped my sound and identity as an artist. My latest single, “Hourglass” marks a new chapter for Shadowary. It is a song about redemption, growth, and embracing the parts of ourselves we often hide – the shadow self.

I write songs that are raw, sad and sometimes angry because writing songs is how I process life. If you have ever felt lost or alone, I hope my music makes you feel like somebody else gets it too.
